About the Science & Technology Network

The Science & Technology Network is a student group registered with the School of International & Public Affairs of Columbia University. Our goal is to bring together students from the various concentrations within SIPA, the Law school, the Business School, and other departments of Columbia University with shared interests in Science and Technology. The primary benefits of this will come from the exchange of information about new technologies, market trends, research projects, job and internship opportunities, and announcements of events going on around campus or elsewhere in New York. We also hope to begin organizing discussions and lectures ourselves, inviting speakers from Columbia and elsewhere to share their knowledge and views on issues specific to their field.

Our student organization was founded Fall 2000 and is just beginning. The success of our group depends on our ability to attract members from various disciplines of study and promoting interaction and discussion between them. We hope to establish contacts in each of the relevant departments who can help relay information, and provide input for group organized events. Below are some of the suggestions that have been made for possible activities:

There is a lot of hard work ahead, and we hope to grow this list as well as begin work on the ideas themselves as the year progresses. If you have more suggestions, consider dropping us a note at stn@columbia.edu.

Current Officers

Our group is just beginning and we do not have a full range of officers yet.
