Dankschreiben der Gesellschf. d. Musikfreunde für mein Geschenk der “_Ornamentik_”. [ illeg ] wird ich von Dr. Mandiczewsky1 getreten, das Geschenk zu machen, u. war meinerseits selbst densens[?] nicht aufdringlich.

Letter of thanks from the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde for my gift of [a copy of] Ornamentik. [ illeg. ] I was approached by Dr. Mandyczewski1 about making the gift, and for my part did not push the matter.

1 Eusebius Mandyczewski (1857-1929), Romanian musicologist who worked in Vienna for most of his career; member of the Brahms circle; director of the archives of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde (??-??); editor of works by Beethoven, Brahms, Caldara, Haydn, and Schubert (esp. Lieder).
