Handwritten letter from Cube to Schenker, dated December 31, 1926

Duisburg./Rhld.
Düsseldorferstraße 1./II.
31.XII.26.

Sehr verehrter Meister!

Most honoured Master,

Please forgive me if, in spite of the teaching situation having been resolved, I ask you about something! In the enclosed Urlinie graph, have I gone astray, or not?1 Actually I hardly think so, and yet I want to proceed with complete confidence! At first I was inclined to suppose that the Urlinie moved in the space of a third; yet upon closer listening and study, the signs increased that it moves in the space of a fifth. Everything also fits in this framework.

In the new year I shall hear from the Conservatory.

For today, best wishes for the New Year and affectionate greetings to you and your wife
