Mit einer schriftlichen Erklärung wird es im vorliegenden Falle nicht gehen;¹ wir müssen die Sache so lange liegen lassen, bis Sie eine Viertelstunde Zeit finden, um hier mit Herrn v. Wöss² und mir die Angelegenheit zu besprechen.

Hoffentlich hat Sie Ihr Zahnarzt bereits schmerzlos entlassen und ich habe bald das Vergnügen, Sie bei mir begrüssen zu können.

For the matter in question, a written account simply won’t do¹: we must wait until such time as you can find a quarter of an hour to discuss the matter here with Mr. von Wöß² and myself.

I hope your dentist has by now relieved you of all pain, and that I shall soon have the pleasure of welcoming you to my office.
