Geehrter Herr Jonas!

Dear Mr. Jonas, My obligation toward students kept over from last year or those registered before you compels me to tell you that, to my deepest regret, I cannot be at your disposal this time. Besides the heavy teaching load there is the additional fact that presently no fewer than four works1 are in press at the printers Cotta and Vienna2, and they give me, as you may imagine, very much to do. What about trying some lessons with our [Felix] Hupka?3

Best greetings,
Yours,
[ sign’d: ] H. Schenker
