Use of the Process
Model to design or select performance
assessments would involve the same general procedure illustrated in
Chapters 5-7. These are:
- specifying the purpose,
population, and construct domain in Phase I;
- developing the specifications
in Phase II;
- designing or selecting
the assessment tasks and scoring
rubrics in Phase III; and
- evaluating content-based
validity of the assembled assessment tool (Phase IV A).
Chapter 8 touched on, but did not provide details of, empirical validation
methods pertinent to performance assessments (Phase
IV B).
