The chapter illustrated how to use assessment specifications for designing or selecting performance assessment tools. For each type of performance assessment method, the chapter provided guidelines (rules) for task and rubric design. During content-validation of performance assessment tools, we should attend to specific criteria for quality that apply to each of the five performance assessment methods.
