Cris BeamAdjunct Assistant ProfessorCris Beam is the author of To the End of June: The Intimate Life of American Foster Care (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2013), I Am J (Little, Brown, 2011) and Transparent (Harcourt, 2007), which won a Lambda Literary Award and was a Stonewall Honor book. Her work has been featured on This American Life, and in The Atavist, The Huffington Post, The Awl, The Guardian (UK) and many other publications. In addition to Columbia, she teaches creative writing at New York University and Bayview Women’s Correctional Facility. She has a BA from the University of California Santa Cruz and an MFA in nonfiction from Columbia. |
