Heidi Julavits is the author of four novels including, most recently, The Vanishers. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Harper’s, Esquire, The New York Times, Elle and The Best American Short Stories, The Best American Travel Essays, among other places. She is a founding editor of The Believer magazine and the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship.
