Bio: Zan Gilani is a Columbia College junior from Karachi and London double majoring in Political Science and East Asian Studies (with a specialization in China studies).He is particularly interested in the transforming effects of economic development and modernity on the political, social, and cultural architecture of society.

Bio: Shrey Chandra was born in Mumbai and went to school in The Philippines, where he picked up an interest in looking at intervention and Economic stimulation as methods to alleviate poverty and spur development. He is now an Economics Major with Business.

Bio: Jake Boeri is a sophomore in Columbia College, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business. Originally from Coxsackie, New York, he also serves as a health educator with Peer Health Exchange, an organization which brings health education to underfunded New York City high schools.

Bruno Rigonatti Mendes

Bio: Bruno Rigonatti Mendes was President of DeltaGDP until May 2013. He was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and currently pursues a double degree in Economics and Political Science at Columbia. He is particularly interested in social finance and impact investments, and has a regional focus in Latin America.

Bio: Corey Freeman is a freshman in the joint program between Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Corey plans on majoring in Economics at Columbia and Bible Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Corey is particularly interested in the use of microfinance structures and social entrepreneurship to alleviate global poverty.

Bio: Francesca Audia, hailing from metro-Detroit, is a junior in the Dual B.A. Program between Columbia University and Sciences Po. After studying law and political science in France, Francesca is now majoring in sustainable development at Columbia. She is primarily interested in urbanization and social finance.

Bio: Raymond de Oliveira is a Columbia College transfer from St. John's College in Annapolis now double majoring in Economics and Mathematics. While at Columbia, he plans to research behavioral, developmental, and sustainable economics. He is also excited to explore the application of new happiness research on the economic theory of utility.

Our Goal
is to provide a platform for the Columbia community to critically explore pressing problems of economic development. Bringing together academics, practitioners, and students to grapple with controversial issues in the field, we seek to highlight innovative and viable solutions to urgent questions. DeltaGDP's project also promotes specific initiatives through fund raising and other activities.
