Question(s) of the Week: November 7th, 2013

Let's revisit our utopian dreams with a can-do attitude!

What is the most fundamental change in society that a university student of our time can realistically achieve? Is the path for an individual to achieve maximum social benefit through academia, enterprise, policy-making, or some other route? Change or development of which field would bring about the greatest social benefit -- economics, justice and philosophy, sustainable development, genetics, healthcare, political theory, or something else? Which one of these fields is the most reasonable to pursue for maximum impact, adjusting for ease of implementation, risk of corruption, risk of a right idea turning out to be wrong, and pay-off?

If you feel like sharing, post on our (or your) social networks, or e-mail our board at deltagdp@columbia.edu.

We're eager to hear what world-changing plans you have in store!
