It's really self-monitoring then?

Clark:

Self-monitoring.

Q:

And then, of course, not all American subsidiaries have subscribed to those principles, have they?

Clark:

That's right. By the way, the Sullivan group met yesterday. The academic institutions, the colleges and universities, are being pressured into taking a harder look at their investments in terms of companies doing business in South Africa.

Q:

Would their investments be of sufficient scope to have any great influence?

Clark:

Symbolic influence.

Q:

Have you had any more clients since that time that called on you for at least consultant services relative to South Africa?

Clark:

Well, the South African company that sought to get the cooperation of the American company asked me right after that if I would be a consultant for them. And I said no. The public relations company-- the American public relations company that works for the South African government asked me and practically
