Oh, sure, he does, he does. It's fantastic. It's all on some kind of automated machine and it's about two yards across, a yard deep, and a yard high. He laughed when I said, “Who would you sell it to.”
Describe him a little bit.
Well, he's mild in manner and very persuasive. He's always got something on his mind. You rarely see him unless it's that he's got something on his mind, or you've got something on your mind that you want him to do. And his mind is extremely well organized just as his file is. And when you come to him with something it's as if he'd already been totally briefed on the subject and he knows all the pros and cons of the subject even though you haven't discussed it before with him. He nearly always tries to be helpful. He's got a slightly diffident manner which is surprising. He was head of the Chase for many, many years and that's probably not the most distinguished part of his career. I think David Rockefeller the citizen will turn out to be more important than David Rockefeller the banker. Of course, being the head of the Chase Manhattan Bank gave him enormous leverage.
Can you recall any interesting conversations or dealings with him, about particular subjects?
Oh Lord.
