Did he ever require your help with something, or was he on your news tours?
No he wasn't. He didn't need to have been on a news tour because he has his own Gulf Stream that he toured around the world quite regularly. He was always going somewhere.
Did he ever talk to you about coverage of a Time Magazine coverage of a major world event, for example-
No.
Never?
No, no. You know he was involved in the start of the Urban Coalition. He was one of those people up on the platform there. He was involved in practically everything. What conversations might, I have? I've never had conversations with him because I've asked him to do things. Usually one way or the other. Like on the Library for example, every time that I've asked him to make an appearance, or make a little speech, or give a little money. He gave two and a half million dollars in honor of Brook Astor, after Brook had given ten million. Every time we have a big event at the library and we'd want somebody for the representing the public/private partnership, there's David. And if he's in town and has a half an hour he'll give you the half an hour.
