thing about Time-LIFE Books: Anything about Joan Manley you want to say?
Well, Joan Manley was our first senior woman executive, and I thought she was very capable and a very nice lady. She was a direct mail expert, and, of course, that business was heavily dependent upon direct mail expertise, and she did a very good job. Then the thing fell apart for reasons that I've never quite understood, and finally she left.
