or not, but it had a lot of glitter to it. All was well and the papal benediction was read.

We then went to the executive mansion for the reception. As I say, the world and his wife was there. We walked from the church, because it wasn't very far and getting a conveyance was impossible with so many people. I walked with somebody or other - George Gordon Battle or somebody like that. I remember seeing in the street, and commenting on it to George, great big enormous trucks, lavender in color with Louis Sherry. There was catering by Sherry from New York City. I remember saying to George Gordon Battle, “My goodness, does Sherry cater way up here in Albany?”

“Yes,” said George, who seemed to know how everything had been done, “Miss Marbury said to me, ‘What's the use of throwing a big wedding if you don't give the people good food? I say, “Give them good food:” You can only get good food for a mass of people from Sherry.’” That's just about true. At least, it was in those days. There may be other caterers who can do it now, but to feed several thousand people with an elegant lunch at which cavair, lobster, chicken, etc., etc., are served, can't be done by the kind of person that caters to the Elks ball. It had to be done in style with elegant utensils and so forth, at least so Marbury said. Sherry can do it.
