me and I don't think that letter has any more significance than that.

Of course, I was in Albany for the inauguration. I had got myself rooms ahead of time, like everybody else. I was in Albany every week for a couple of days a week. By this time the DeWitt Clinton Hotel had been built and the Democrats went there. I think I even went up to the second inauguration of Herbert Lehman. I remember saying to Alice Good and some of the others, “Oh, I do miss Albany. I so miss these dear old inaugurations.” I went up several times after I ceased to be a member of the government in New York because it was so lovely and we had such good times meeting each other in the Hotel Ten Eyck or the Hotel DeWitt Clinton. Democrats from all over the state had such a lovely time together.

I can almost remember the rooms that I had at the first Lehman inauguration. The Lehmans were staying at the Executive Mansion, I think. I'm not positive, because there have been times when I've been in the DeWitt Clinton and the Lehmans had rooms down the hall. There was one occasion that I remember very plainly, but whether it was that or not, I don't remember. I think they were probably at the Executive Mansion.

We had a big time because Roosevelt had been elected
