of its own members. That was the beginning. Hillman and Lewis were sophisticated labor leaders who knew that that was a great deal, and that if you could begin at that point, it was all right. They would trust to time to get a larger membership and therefore a larger leverage. it would finally come to the point where they did represent practically the entire number of persons working in the plants.

That's the General Motors strike story, or all I know about it.
