After his death she was very eager to get another one, and we picked out another Lakeland from the same breeder, out on Long Island, and that little fellow was with us until, oh, I guess, '76 or '78, someplace along in there. Then we didn't get another dog. My travels and she went with me, and to take the dog out to Long Island to a kennel every time we'd go out of town was a little difficult--although we sent the dog out in a car. She just didn't think it was fair to the dog to be jerking him back and forth.

As far as dogs go, the next dog in my life was the fellow who is here now. But if Ruth were here she would be absolutely enchanted by this little guy, because he has such a personality.
