Melis Bürsin

Melis Bürsin was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied Italian Art History and Photography at the University of Georgia's Cortona program in Cortona, Italy. She received her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2006; that same year she was nominated for the Meyer's Traveling grant for three months spent photographing in Turkey. Her work is influenced by living in six different countries spanning three continents, growing up in the Far East for a time, then moving to the Middle East, and eventually making her way across the Atlantic to America. www.melisbursin.com
