Francesca Neiman

Francesca Neiman was born in Pietrasanta, Italy, 1986, studied in Lucca and graduated from the School of Visual Arts, New York. She has exhibited in Switzerland, Italy and Brooklyn. Francesca's extensive traveling combined with her diverse background and her sudden absorption of New York City inspired a body of work that prioritizes the pairing of odds or worlds that unusually speak to each other. Dialectical, cultural and structural elements are analyzed outside of their original context and reassembled. The arena where the conversation initiates is the carcass of common storytelling structures (e.g. comics, song lyrics, foot notes and scrolls) where spontaneous successions of associations take place.
