| U.S. House Honors Class Salutatorian / Biology Major |
Columbia College Class of 2003 Salutatorian Denise De Las Nueces was recognized by the Honorable Charles B. Rangel (NY-Dem) of The U.S. House of Representatives when he introduced a statement into the Congressional Record in her honor on June 4, 2003.
Majoring in biological sciences, Ms. De Las Nueces became Columbia College's first Latina Salutatorian in its 250 year history. Ms. De Las Nueces is also the recipient of the Department of Biological Sciences Cyrus Levinthal Prize, given in recognition of excellence in undergraduate studies and promise in scientific research.
