APIS Translator
APIS is one of the last digital special collection to still reside in the old database format (MMF1). Since the inception and launch of APIS a newer more robust and more widely used data model has been created (MMF2). It is neccessary to convert the old MMF1 database to the new MMF2 database. The purpose of the APIS translator is to build a updateable system to do the above task and migrate the data from MMF1 to MMF2. This will be done by generating MMF2 Intake Format (IF) files from all the records in the MMF1 database. These MMF2 IF files will then be read into the MMF2 database. This system can later be adapted in the future to generate MMF2 intake files from the MMF2 database.
