Pedro's widow who had been in the Sandinista government leaving the Sandinista government because the Sandinista government turns out to be a dictatorship too. Complicated.

Q:

Until what point did you remain active in this association?

Heiskell:

It was about twenty years or so, until the early '70's, middle '70's.

Q:

Did you know Timmerman?

Heiskell:

No. Timmerman came after that.

Q:

Was this association connected in any way with any U.S. Government association-organization?

Heiskell:

No, on the contrary. We made a great point of having no connection with--and we even used to have great debates as to whether we should allow a government official to address us, give the appearance of it. But on the other hand in Latin America, if you go to a Latin American country as a group of that kind, you simply have to be received by the reigning monarch, or what have you.

Q:

Were the Cubans in this association?
