Q:

But he didn't talk about Nixon a lot, clearly.

Heiskell:

Q:

He wasn't alive.

Heiskell:

Oh, of course not. That's right, that's right, he didn't. He only knew him as Vice President, and as--

Q:

Heiskell:

Q:

Did Luce talk about Chambers?

Heiskell:

No, well--I'm sure he did, but I was not involved. Chambers was on Time--it was in the, what? Years before the war, and then it was right after the war.

Q:

Heiskell:

He was quite friendly with Taft, but as you know-he worked hard to get Ike in instead of Taft.
