T.S. Matthews--I suppose T.S. Matthews really resigned in
part because of that. He also went over many other arguments, but
you know, people don't usually leave because of just one thing.
I'm trying to think about other instances--I'm sure there
were other instances.
Now, wait. I have T.S. Matthews as Time Managing Editor from
1943 to 1949.
So--were you saying that he resigned over the Stevenson or in
general over this political bias situation?
Matthews was there after 1949. Yes. Because what
happened--I don't recall the dates exactly, but--
Oh, maybe he stayed on as editorial director, or something.
