Q:

Is he a religious man?

Heiskell:

I think so. He's also influenced by his wife, who is the daughter of that famous couple--name escapes me--the one who wrote the great book about America, and she's a professor, and they both won Nobel prizes.

Q:

Couple did? Her parents?

Heiskell:

Yes. Her parents.

Q:

Not Dos Passos?

Heiskell:

No. They're Swedish.

Q:

Myrdal?

Heiskell:

Yes, Myrdals. They're the Myrdals. And she's the daughter of the Myrdals. And she's a Professor of Ethics at Brandeis University.

Q:

So what do you mean when you say he's influenced by her?

Heiskell:

I think--I would guess, I can't do more than guess, but I
