and he thought it would be easier to get a station with his name on it at that time. Then he went on to say he would have to be very careful, but he thought somehow that would have some bearing.

Then he decided that he didn't want to buy -- I think it was that week or month that (I may have had something to do with it) he decided to take his eggs and not put them all in one basket; not try to control all the stations, but to buy minority positions in the stations. For a time, I think he had three or four markets where he had partial ownership.

Q:

Of what stations?

Stanton:

Oh, I think it was a station in Louisiana -- I don't recall that they were big markets, they were small-sized markets. He didn't walk into Dallas or San Antonio or anything like that.

Q:

He had one in Waco, as well, right? Waco? He had a station in Waco? I think he had a station in Waco, Texas.

Stanton:

Did he?

Q:

I think so.

Stanton:

Well, that was the time when this happened, the time I'm describing.

Q:

Did you socialize frequently, you and your wife, with the St? Did you socialize with them?
