knew anything about the company; and if he didn't know about it, could he get it through his own former contacts? Could he turn up any information that would be useful.

The staff knows that it can call on anybody in the group for help, and I guess I've been involved in maybe a half a dozen of them, where I knew something about the field.

Q:

Such as?

Stanton:

Well, cable is one. Art supplies is another one. An in-store broadcasting operation, headed up in Salt Lake City, is another that I came in on.

Q:

Was that Broadcast International?

Stanton:

Yes. And I was chairman of it for--

Q:

How did that come about? What was that deal about, really?

Stanton:

I don't know how it came into the group. I certainly didn't bring it in; I didn't even know it existed.

Q:

It sounded like a small enterprise.

Stanton:

And it was hidden out there in Salt Lake City. It happened that I knew Salt Lake City very well, because I was close to the Mormons. I'm obviously not a Mormon, but--I think maybe I've mentioned this before, haven't I--about the Mormons?
