Yes. This was the Labor Day weekend. The campaign started in Detroit with the big Labor Day speech. And Phil insisted that I -- Phil said to me, “This is your opportunity to get close to Jack, and to recapture the ground that you lost during the primaries.” And I insisted that I couldn't -- I just couldn't participate in that kind of a close up discussion, and insisted the correspondents keep an arm's-length relationship with candidates too.
