aa;Nkho;N me;N jii miraa hai idhar yaar dekhnaa
((aashiq kaa apne aa;xirii diidaar dekhnaa

1) my life is in my eyes-- this way, beloved, look--
2) look at the last sight/vision of your lover!

Notes:

diidaar : 'Sight, vision (= diid ); look, appearance; face, countenance, cheek; interview'. (Platts p.556)

S. R. Faruqi:

The opening-verse is by way of introduction.

It seems that early in his life Fani had been influenced by verses of this kind. In his ghazal ma))aal-e soz-e ;Gamhaa-e nihaanii dekhte jaa))o , there's a mood like that of this opening-verse.

But if we consider carefully, then in Mir's verse a slight pleasure of meaning can also be seen. That is, by aa;xirii diidaar is meant that state of the lover's, or that time, when he is looking at you for the last time. In the lover's last moments, if the beloved would turn her face toward him, then she'll see the lover taking his last look. The zila of 'eyes' and 'to see' is also fine.
