This website provides information about four private schools in Pakistan – Aitichison College, Beaconhouse School System, Salamat Girls System and Scholastic Islamiah. There are more than 100 private schools in Lahore but these four schools were chosen for the following reasons:

1)   Aitichison College is chosen because it is the best school for boys in Lahore. The school has maintained a high reputation for hundreds of years and continues to do so. Other schools for boys try to follow the pattern of this school to set up their syllabus and training for boys.

2)   Beaconhouse School System is chosen because it is the largest and the first private school in Pakistan with branches all over Pakistan. The school caters to middle class and the fee structure is not very high. The school has also opened branches in other countries  and is continuously growing. There is a lot of emphasis on teacher training in this school. Beaconhouse school is a good example of a co educational school that is both boys and girls study together in this school till A levels.

3)   Salamat Girls System is chosen because it is a good example of an only girls school. A lot of emphasis is placed on project based learning and on integrating technology in the curriculum. Students syllabus of English, Math and Science is based on American Curriculum till grade 5. The fee structure is not too high but high quality of teaching and learning is maintained. 

4)   Scholastic Islamiah is chosen because it is a good representation of schools which are Islamic Schools but which also emphasize contemporary learning. Students are taught all the subjects and follow the British Curriculum with an emphasis on imparting Islamic values. Before the establishment of this school only madrassah schools catered to imparting Islamic education and other modern subjects were not taught at madrassah schools.
