Scholastic Islamiah
Scholastic Islamiah was established to make the students
understand the Islamic principles and values so that they can
live their life according to Islamic values and be proud of
their religion and culture. The school is different from
Madrassah schools as Cambridge syllabus is taught in school from
KG and students and teachers aspire to maintain high standards
in written and oral communication. The school right now caters
to boys till grade 6 and girls till grade 5 but a new class will
be added to the school every year.
A
separate campus for boys will also be built which will start
functioning from next year and all the boys will be shifted in
that campus. The rooms are spacious and air conditioned. This
school is different from other Islamic schools as contemporary
education is given with Islamic education.
School Curriculum
Children ought to be exposed to a wide area of instruction and
experiences and our curriculum reflects this fact by giving the
utmost importance to the selection of our curriculum and scheme
of studies. We have designed a curriculum for Scholastic
Islamiah which is discovery oriented. Through the implementation
of this curriculum, we will ensure that the student learns
through discovering rather than being spoon fed. This way, the
students remember what they has learnt for the rest of their
lives and are able to apply it to various instances throughout
their lives. They also enjoy learning and start taking schooling
as a place of fun also rather than a place of hard work only.
Following is a curriculum framework for Scholastic Islamiah
which encompasses all subject wise curriculum. For a review of
the subject wise curriculum, yearly class targets and grade wise
book list, please visit the school office.

Curriculum Research & Development
Our Faculty Development Committee is responsible for the
development and upgrading of the curriculum.
The committee is also responsible for successful implementation
of the curriculum. Our curriculum is constantly updated to meet
with the changing times and to ensure that our educational
standards are always of the highest.
Our teaching staff are also constantly encouraged to share with
each other ideas that have worked for them in the classroom.
They are encouraged to introduce into the classroom new ideas
and strategies they learn in the training courses and workshops
they attend, implementing them within the framework of our
cultural and religious values.
Internal Assessment
Even the best designed tests and examinations evaluate only
limited areas of a child's development. With this in mind, we
also take into account teacher assessments of class-work, etc. A
progress report is sent to the parents at the end of each month
(monthly assessments) and at the end of each term (term
assessments) which will give the parents a brief, but necessary
feedback regarding their child's progress.
Parents are regularly kept abreast of their child's performance
and any problems (academic, behavioral, etc.) their child may
have in class through regular parent/teacher meetings. Parents
are strongly advised to attend these meetings so that they may
discuss any problems their child may be facing in more detail
and find a joint solution with the school to these problems.
Parents may also meet with teachers at other times where
necessary and having first made arrangements for such meetings
with the Principal.
Teacher/Staff Professional Development
Teacher training and professional development are considered to
be extremely important to the success of the school. Internal
resources are being utilized as well as the resources of the
local colleges/schools and local community agencies to help get
staff professional training. Even though, the school started
out with highly qualified teachers, they believe that there is
always room for improvement. This they believe is one of their
strength...the attitude that "we are all learners".
Workshops are being conducted for training in various curriculum
learning areas (subjects) such as Math, English , Science,
language other than English (for example: Arabic) etc., at least
once a month.
The school has a committed core team of educationists along with
specialized training staff and a range of guest speakers to
ensure that the teachers and thus theschool is continuously
improving in both academics and tarbiyah.
School Evaluation
The school is evaluated by trained school evaluators at regular
intervals against pre-determined standards which are constantly
revised keeping in view the rapidly changing educational needs.
Admission Procedure
The admission procedure begins with registration. The
registration form can be obtained from the School Office. This
form should be completed by the Parent or Guardian and submitted
to the School Office as soon as possible.

Scholarships
At
Scholastic Islamiah administration understands that most people
cannot afford to send their children to schools with such a fee
structure. Therefore, they have come up with a realistic and
encouraging scholarship program.
Scholarships being offered by Scholastic Islamiah include:
·
Means Scholarship
·
Kinship Scholarship
Means Scholarship
The purpose of means scholarship is to assist financially those
parents who are willing and determined to get their children the
best education but cannot afford to do so. Financial need has to
be convincingly demonstrated to the Principal, i.e. the
education of the child concerned cannot continue without
financial assistance by the School, with necessary supporting
documents to be considered for Means Scholarship.
Any Parent applying for a means scholarship for his/her
son/daughter should fill out the
Financial Aid Application
and submit it with photocopies of documents mentioned in this
document.
Kinship Scholarship
We
support the idea of Parents with a larger number of children.
Therefore, we have come up with a strong kinship scholarship
program. The kinship scholarship policy is as follows:
· The
tuition fee will completely be wavered for the third child
enrolled into Scholastic Islamiah.
· 50%
tuition fee will be wavered From the fourth child onwards.
