This qualitative and
historical research focuses on different trends in the
integration of technology in K-12 schools in the US. The
research will continue in other developing countries to
see the trends and the philosophy behind technologies
being used in the schools and universities. Qualitative
research methodologies will be used to find out and
analyze technology integration issues in schools and
universities. This will be a model study to find out the
different trends that technology integration follows in
a developing country, and how different set-ups and
political issues influence the integration of
technology.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
My principal research interests
lie in the field of qualitative research and teaching in social
sciences. I have completed two qualitative research projects at
Columbia University, focusing on the history of technology
integration in the US, and cross cultural training programs.

LAS is a premier (K through 12) educational institution in the
South Asian region (accredited by the Middle States Association
of Colleges and Schools, USA). I have taught various grades at
LAS, and prepared international students with little or no
background in English to take regular classes at LAS.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
Attended the NESA ESL/Special
Education Conference held at the American Embassy School, in New
Delhi, India (January 2005). Near East South Asia Council of
Overseas Schools ("NESA") is a non-profit, voluntary
association of more than 75 international schools in the Near
East and South Asia, a region stretching from Greece and Egypt
in the west, to Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the east. The
NESA Center, headquartered in Athens, Greece, provides
professional development opportunities and educational services
for teachers and administrators in the member schools.
