The department is pleased to welcome
Turkuler Isiksel to Columbia as Assistant Professor of Political Sciences. Professor Isiksel received her Ph.D. from Yale University in 2010 and in the 2010-11 academic year held a Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Global Governance Programme of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Study at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
Professor Isiksel's research interests include constitutional theory, European integration, the law of international economic institutions, markets and commerce in 18th century political thought, citizenship theory and European Union enlargement.
In 2011-12, Professor Isiksel will teach Contemporary Civilization and an undergraduate lecture course, "Citizenship and Exclusion."
