Columbia University's Department of Political Science invites applications for a position in comparative politics of developing nations at the assistant professor level to begin July 2012. The department particularly welcomes applications from individuals studying South Asia or the Middle East, although applications from specialists in other developing parts of the world will be considered as well.
Ph.D. required at time of appointment. Candidates will be expected to sustain an active research and publication agenda and teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. A joint appointment with Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs is possible.
Applicants should submit cover letter, curriculum vitae, a list of references, at least one writing sample, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted on their behalf.
The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications October 1, 2011, and will consider applications received until the position is filled.
