R. Lyon

R.Lyon's time based sculptures and installations collide human subjectivity with its contemporary digital condition. Created through error, data compression, and duplication, he uses illusionary spaces, and human surrogates to materialize our relationship with the uncanny and often unknowable cybernetic intelligences that mediate our world. Under a variety of aliases Lyon has performed and exhibited extensively throughout the US and Europe. He is also the curator of a satellite exhibition entitled Essential Objects, the artists work as a series of four inch cubes; which includes the participation of the graduating class of the Columbia MFA program and is on display concurrently with the thesis exhibition. www.iRLyon.com
