Assoc. Prof. Ozgur Sahin awarded Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering

Ozgur SahinWe are thrilled to announce that in addition to receiving the NIH Director's New Innovator Award, Associate Prof. Ozgur Sahin has also been awarded a prestigious Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering. This fellowship is intended to give young, creative researchers the freedom and flexibility to explore promising avenues of research early in their careers.

As Lynn Orr, Keleen and Carlton Beal Professor at Stanford University, and Chairman of the Packard Fellowships Advisory Panel put it in the award announcement, "David Packard believed one of the best ways to make progress as a society and as a nation is to give talented people the resources they need to accomplish their work and then get out of the way to let them do it."

Ozgur is one of only 16 recipients of this year's Packard Fellowship, which provides each researcher with $875,000 over 5 years.

Congratulations, Ozgur!
