2nd Annual Biotechnology Networking Social

February 27, 2012

Our chapter hosted a networking social for graduate students interested in working in industry. This event was held in Lerner Hall at Columbia University on February 27, 2012. Company representatives from LifeCell, Celgene, Organovo, Nature Publishing Group, and Insight attended in addition to over 60 graduate students/postdocs.




2nd USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo

April 28-29, 2012

Our student chapter is proud to be an Official Partner of the 2nd USA Science & Engineering Festival, held in the greater Washington D.C. area in April 2012. We hosted an exhibit on hydrogel tissue engineering sponsored by the Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences! See below for more information about the festival:

SWE Conference 2012

March 31, 2012

In collaboration with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) our chapter hosted over 60 young women scientists and engineers in our Biomedical Engineering lab. Interactive demonstrations were given on tissue engineering, histology and confocal microscopy.




Seminar with Dr. Milena Adamian & Dr. Denise Barbut

December 8, 2011

Our chapter hosted a discussion between Dr. Adamian and Dr. Barbut who spoke about their collective experiences from graduate school towards entrepreneurship.
