eBay Has No Liability for Forged
Collectibles: The unpublished decision about forged
collectibles described at page 282 of the text was affirmed
in Gentry v. EBay, Inc., 121 Cal. Rptr. 2d 703 (Ct. App. 2002).
Among other things, the decision held that the Communications
Decency Act gives EBay immunity from liability under Section
1739.7, liability for negligence, and liability for violations
of California's Unfair Competition Law.
