Guy Ben-Ari

Born 1984 in Israel, lives and works in New York City. Ben-Ari received his BFA with honors from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, where he received the Perser Award for Excellence in Painting. Selected for the Exchange Program for Merit Students, he studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Arts, UCL, London. Ben-Ari has participated in various group shows in New York, most recently at Thierry Goldberg Projects Gallery and 6-8 Months Project Space, and in many group shows in Israel. Ben-Ari's paintings are referential, figurative, narrative and illustrative. His work questions the complex relationship between philosophy and art, through the incorporation of psychoanalytic theories within the medium of painting. www.guybenari.com
