Roberto Valdovinos

Graduate Student

Roberto holds two B.A. (Philosophy and Logic) and a M.A. (Contemporary Philosophy) from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He has also completed graduate coursework in the EHESS (France) and in the UNAM (Mexico).
He has specialized in contemporary phenomenology, critical theory and psychoanalysis. His research focuses on the concept of alterity and its significance for the comprehension of intellectual, literary and artistic trends in Latin America and in Mexico in particular.
His everyday-life interests vary from Russian literature to old tangos, and he deeply enjoys things as contrasting as ranchera songs and Bergman films.
