Sonia Montero

Lecturer in Language (Spanish)

Sonia Montero Gálvez has B.A. and M.A. degrees in Spanish Philology at the Universitat de Valencia (Spain), and M.A. degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo and the Instituto Cervantes. She has taught Spanish and has developed different cultural activities as MAEC-AECID Lecturer at the Univerzitet of Sarajevo in Bosnien-Hercegovina (2009-2012), and as Collaborating Professor at the Institutos Cervantes in Hamburg and Bremen in Germany (2006-2009). Her research interests in Spanish as a Foreign Language include Cognitive Linguistics, the learning/teaching of grammar and Error Analysis.  Currently she is researching the use of "grounding elements" (Ø, articles, quantifiers…) in nominal structure to improve its teaching/learning through a cognitive approach. Among her publications is an article that introduces this question, and other articles about cultural items (contemporary theatre, Latin-American literature).
