Format Specifications for the Senior Thesis
All pages should have one-inch margins all around and a header with the author's last name and the page number right justified.
The main text should be double spaced; extended in-text quotations and all footnotes should be single spaced. Do not right justify the text. Use MLA-style format throughout. The thesis should be printed using Courier 12 or any other monospaced font. Use this font for all text: main body, headers, footnotes, and bibliography.
Append a bibliography of works cited. Use MLA documentation style for all sources.
Include a cover page with the following information centered on the page: the author's full name, the title of the thesis, and the name of the faculty member who supervised the work.
Finally, three hard copies of the thesis should be deposited in the mailbox of the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the department's main office (Casa Hispánica 101) by the announced deadline. Departmental honors will be granted to those students whose work is deemed deserving by a committee of faculty members that will be constituted for that purpose by the DUS.
For the 2009-10 academic year, the due date for the senior thesis is Monday, April 12, 2010 by 4:30 p.m. at the latest. Theses handed in after the deadline will not be considered for honors.
